Types of Dentures
Full Dentures (Complete Dentures):
- Replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
- Used when no natural teeth are left.
- Made of acrylic, and they sit on your gums.
Partial Dentures:
- Replace one or several missing teeth. in the upper or lower jaw.
- Clip onto your remaining natural teeth.
- Often made of plastic and metal.
Immediate Dentures:
- Placed right after teeth are removed, so you don't go without teeth.
- These are temporary and may need to be adjusted or replaced later.
Implant-Supported Dentures:
- Attached to dental implants in your jawbone.
- More stable than regular dentures—don’t slip when eating or talking.
- Can be fixed or removable
Overdentures:
- Sit on top of some remaining teeth or implants.
- Help keep the jawbone stronger and provide better fit.
