Cosmetic Dentistry.

Cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of a person’s teeth, smile, and overall oral aesthetics. It includes treatments such as teeth whitening, veneers, bonding, and contouring. While many cosmetic procedures also enhance function, the primary goal is to create a more attractive and confident smile.

Crown Lengthening:

Crown lengthening is a dental procedure where the gum tissue, and sometimes bone, is removed or reshaped to expose more of a tooth's surface. It’s often done to prepare a tooth for a crown or filling, or to improve the appearance of a “gummy” smile.

Veneers:

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are placed over the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They’re often used to fix chipped, stained, crooked, or unevenly spaced teeth.

Teeth Whitening:

Teeth whitening, is a process that uses special whitening agents (usually containing peroxide) to lighten the color of teeth. It helps remove stains and discoloration caused by food, drinks, smoking, or aging.
At Wildwood Dental, we use a professional-grade teeth whitening gel which is used in custom-made trays for at-home bleaching. It contains carbamide peroxide (usually in concentrations like 10%, 16%, or 22%) to whiten teeth over several days or weeks, depending on the strength and usage

  • Used at night (or for a few hours during the day) in custom-fitted trays.

  • Gentler on teeth due to added fluoride and desensitizing agents.
  • Gradual results, often visible within a week.

Instructions:

  1. Brush and floss your teeth
Clean teeth help the gel work better and prevent trapping bacteria.
  2. Apply the gel to your custom tray
    • Use a small drop (about a rice grain size) in each tooth compartment of the tray.
    • Don’t overfill—too much gel can irritate your gums.
  3. Insert the tray
    • Place the tray firmly over your teeth.
    • Wipe away any excess gel that seeps out with a tissue or clean cloth.
  4. Wear for the recommended time
    • Depending on the strength (10%, 16%, or 22%), wear the tray for:
      • 10%: 2–4 hours or overnight
    • Follow your dentist’s specific advice for your case.
  5. Remove and clean
    • Take out the tray, rinse your mouth with water.
    • Clean the tray with cold water and a soft toothbrush—no hot water!
  6. Store properly
    • Keep the gel in a cool, dry place or the refrigerator if advised.
    • Store trays in a clean container.
